Cake Smash & Splash sessions are the ultimate way to celebrate that huge milestone of their First Birthday. This session is for your soon-to-be 1-year-old in hopes of capturing that sweet, adventurous, curious spirit they are growing into. After all, that glorious cake smashing your little one will certainly need a good bath and what better way than to end your session with a bubble bath.
These sessions start with milestone pictures of the whole family together before moving onto the cake smashing and finally "splashing" to clean up!
These sessions are held in the baby's home as they will be most comfortable in their familiar space.

Q: WHAT IS THE CAKE SMASH SESSION?
A: Cake Smash sessions are the ultimate way to celebrate that huge milestone of their First Birthday. Usually at the cake smash session, is when baby will try cake for the first time. It's fun and messy.
Q: WHEN SHOUD I DO THE CAKE SMASH PHOTOS?
A: Cake Smash portraits are taken on or around your little one’s 1st birthday. Most of our clients book the session around 11 months old but it can be done when baby is one or after baby's birthday.
Q: IS THE CAKE INCLUDED?
A: The Cake is not included due to food hygiene-intolerance and allergy reasons.
Q: PROPS & POSES FOR CHILDREN/CAKE SMASH SESSION
A: When you schedule your session, we will discuss a backdrop and I provide a white backdrop and balloon garland in the colors of your choice. I like to keep these sessions simple, only with a balloon garland to really focus on your little one and the personality they are growing into!
Q: IS THERE A SPECIFIC TYPE OF CAKE USED FOR THE CAKE SMASH?
A: They’re generally best if kept small, about six inches. Any cake from Publix or your local bakery works well and if you can ask for the cake to be softer it's easy to break apart and eat. Your smash cake can of course be decorated with any themes or characters your child likes, but we suggest your baby's cake be decorated with bright fun colors. If you opt for a colored finish on the cake, it is important to check with the baker so that dye is not used that leaves stains on the baby's skin. You don't want your baby's skin to get all blotchy for the bubble bath session.
Q: CAN WE INCLUDE SOME PHOTOS WITH PARENTS AND OLDER SIBLINGS IN THE SESSION?
A: Yes, the focus is mainly on baby however they are welcome to participate in a few poses.
Q: CAN WE USE SOMETHING OTHER THAN CAKE?
A: You aren’t limited to just cake! Some other options include fruits, cupcakes, donuts, really anything your baby would like to eat and play with to create cute and messy photos!
Q: ARE THE OUTFITS INCLUDED IN THE CAKE SMASH PHOTO SHOOT?
A: Outfits are not included. At that age there is always a variation for the size of the baby and so, in order not to run the risk of not having an outfit in the right size for your baby.
Q: WHAT IS THE DELIVERY TIME FOR DIGITAL FILES?
A: Turnaround time is 2 weeks.
Q: HOW LONG IS THE CAKE SMASH SESSION?
A: The session lasts about 1 hour, but I will arrive at your house about 1 hour before the session to prepare the entire scenario-decor.
Q: MAY I INVITE MY FAMILY MEMBERS TO THE SESSION, SUCH AS GRANDPARENTS AND COUSINS?
A: I prefer to keep immediate family members only. Too many people trying to get your child to smile may be distracting or overwhelming.
Q: WHAT IF MY CHILD DOESN’T EAT THE CAKE?
A: This may happen. Some children love the cake smash and dig right in! Others are more hesitant and even get upset. Feel free to have puffs, cheerios, or any other small snack that your child likes that we can place on the cake to entice him/her to participate.
TIP:
. It's best to schedule the session after your baby's nap time or the time of the day when your baby is active and happy.
