NEWBORN SESSION
Frequently Asked Questions

When should I book a newborn photography session?

If your baby has already arrived, feel free to reach out! I’ll do my best to fit you into my calendar, depending on availability.

However, to secure your spot, I recommend booking your session around two months before your due date, as I take on a limited number of sessions each month.

When you book, a reservation fee is required, and I’ll tentatively schedule your session for about 10-15 days after your due date. Once your baby is born, simply notify me as soon as possible so we can confirm or adjust the session date if needed.

Are you trained in newborn photography?

Yes, absolutely. Newborn safety and proper handling are extremely important to me. I’ve received professional training from some of the most respected photographers in the industry, including Ana Brandt, Stephanie Robin, Bel Ferreira, Nina Estanis, and Daniela Margotto, among others.

I'm also a proud member of APNPI (Accredited Professional Newborn Photographers International)—an organization dedicated to promoting safety, education, and professional standards in newborn photography. This ensures that I stay up to date with best practices and continue delivering a safe and high-quality experience for you and your baby.

Are you vaccinated?

Absolutely! I’m fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and stay up to date with my annual flu shots.

When will the session take place?

The ideal time for a newborn session is between 8 and 16 days old. During this window, babies are typically sleepier and easier to pose.

That said, if your baby is older than 3 or 4 weeks, no worries! We can still create beautiful, meaningful images—older babies often bring more alertness and expression to their photos.

Do you need a lot of space for an in-home newborn session?

Not at all! I bring a compact portable studio setup that fits comfortably in most homes. I will bring my studio light, posing table, floor backdrop, props, wraps, and blankets based on your preferences. Usually, the living room works perfectly—just a small open area is enough for me to create beautiful newborn photos right in the comfort of your home.

Can my baby wear multiple outfits during the session?

Newborns are often more comfortable in soft, stretchy wraps than newborn photo outfits, which can be stiff or hard to put on. Wraps help babies feel cozy and secure, and I can create a variety of looks by changing colors, textures, or adding small accessories like hats, little toys or headbands—without upsetting them.

For the posing table, I may use a simple diaper cover along with the wraps to gently show your baby’s arms and legs. This allows for a mix of cozy wrapped shots and natural poses that highlight their tiny features.

Depending on the package you select, we may be able to use a couple of outfits if your baby tolerates them well. If you’re planning to use your own outfits, please let me know in advance so I can confirm whether they are suitable for the package. Outfit changes during newborn sessions take extra time and can impact the flow of the session.

Do you provide wraps, outfits, hats, and headbands?

Yes! I have a beautiful collection of wraps, hats, and headbands to use during your newborn session. I also have a few carefully selected newborn outfits, and depending on the package you choose, we may be able to include a couple of outfits if your baby tolerates them.

Can I request a specific set or accessory?

You’re welcome to send inspiration photos before the session. If the image is from my portfolio, I can usually recreate a similar style. If it’s from another photographer, I may not have the exact props, but I’ll do my best to create a look with the items I have that captures a similar style and feel. While I can’t replicate images exactly, I’ll make sure your session is unique and beautifully tailored to your baby.

Can I choose the poses for the session?

You may provide pose ideas or reference photos, but please note that every baby is different. I always begin by assessing your baby’s comfort and flexibility, and I will never force a pose that your baby isn’t comfortable with. My priority is keeping your little one relaxed and safe throughout the session.

Can I choose colors and props?

Yes, absolutely! Depending on the package you choose, you’ll be able to select the backdrop color and your favorite props from my curated collection.

How long does it take to receive the photos?

Here’s what you can expect:

• Initial gallery (with basic color and light adjustments): delivered within 5 business days

• Final retouched images: delivered within 2 weeks after image selection
